potato pancake





Ingredients:
5-6 potato, peeled and shredded, extra water removed
All purpose flour
2-3 eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
Additional taster; eg shallot, red pepper, shredded chicken, minced meat, chives

Method:
Add all the ingredients together in a big bowl.
Add more flour or water until you reach the thickness you like.
Heat oil on a pan
Fry the batter like you would fry pancake.
Nice to be enjoyed hot with chilly sauce or mayonnaise or any sauce you like. Or you could enjoy it like I did- on its own.

coffee custard cake






Ingredients






Cake:
A. ½ cup of instant coffee
B. 5 tablespoon of hot water
C. ½ teaspoon of vanilla essence
D. 1 ½ cup of granulated sugar
E. 4 eggs
F. 1 cup of milk
G. 2 ¼ cup of self-raising flour
Custard:
A. ¼ cup of skim milk
B. 2 cups of water
C. 4 tablespoon of custard powder
D. Some vanilla essence
E. 1 tablespoon butter
Agar layer:
A. 2 tablespoon of agar
B. ¼ cup of water
C. Sugar to taste
D. Cherry or nuts for garnish







Direction



cake:
1. Preheat the oven
2. Dissolve the coffee in the hot water
3. Sieve the flour
4. Whip butter, vanilla essence and sugar until
5. Put in egg one at a time
6. Put in milk a little at a time
7. Put in the coffee
8. Fold in the flour a little at a time
9. Bake until the toothpick comes out clean

Custard garnish
1. Put in all ingredients for the custard except for the butter
2. Stir on a small fire until thicken
3. When the custard thicken, add in the butter
4. Pour the custard on the cooled cake
5. While you wait for the custard to cool down, prepare for the agar layer
6. In a pot; put in all the ingredients for agar and simmer over low heat until everything dissolve
7. Sieve the dissolved agar and pour over the cooled custard that have been garnished with cherry or nuts.

Unconventional bread pudding










ingredients:



A. High fiber bread, dice in 1inchx1inch
B. 3 eggs, beaten
C. The same amount of milk with the egg
D. Cheese, about the same amount as the egg and milk
E. Sausages, 5-6 sticks, cut to make about ¼ inch sticks
F. 1 big onion
G. Salt and pepper to liking



method:




Toast the bread in a baking pan in your oven



Cook the sausage in a little oil until a bit browned


Add about ½ cup of plain water and let the water help in ensuring the sausage cook evenly



As the water evaporated, add the cut onion and sauté until caramelized. Put aside



Took out the bread and let it cool in a minute



Mix the eggs, milk and cheese together.



Put the bread into the egg mixture. Throw in the sausage into the bread. Let the bread and the sausage soaked for about 1 minute



Bake in a preheated oven until the egg set

A. Roti berserat tinggi, didadu dalam 1 inci x 1 inci

C. Susu, sama bayak dengan telur

Bakar roti anda di dalam pembakar anda. Biarkan sejuk sebentar.



Goreng sedikit sosej anda dengan sedikit minyak hingga perang, tambah ½ cawan air dan biar masak sebentar agar masak sekata.



Apabila air sudah tersejat, tambah bawang dan tumis hingga perang. Tolak tepi



Gabungkan telur, susu dan keju dalam mangkuk besar.



Masukkan roti tadi ke dalam campuran susu.



Masukkan sosej. Biarkan ia berendam selama seminit.



Tuang dalam bekas bakar dan bakar hingga telur masak (apabila cucuk dengan pencungkil gigi, ia keluar dengan bersih)

Stuffed potato








Ingredients
1. 3 medium sized potato
2. 1 onion, diced
3. 1 stalk of celery, diced
4. 1 root of carrot, diced
5. A small bowl of minced meat ( around 100 cc)
6. Cheese
7. Salt pepper to taste

Direction




1. Cut the potato to two parts each. Boil until soft enough to be poked.
2. In another pot, sauté the onion, celery and carrot until soft
3. Add in minced meat and cook until crumbly
4. Add salt and pepper to taste. Put it aside
5. Scoop out the inside of the potato. Leaving about 1 mm of potato layer inside the jacket
6. Mash the potato that have been scooped out and add in into the beef.
7. Add in some cheese into the mix. Toss evenly
8. Stuff the beef mixture into the hollow of the potato jacket
9. Sprinkle on some more cheese
10. Bake until brown

1. Kentang dipotong melintang dan direbus
2. Tumis bawang, seleri dan lobak merah
3. Masukkan daging dan kacau hingga masak
4. Masukkan garam dan lada secukup rasa. Letak tepi
5. Korek keluar isi kentang dan ditinggalkan 1mm isinya
6. Hancurkan isi yang dikeluarkan tadi dan dicampurkan dengan daging
7. Tambah keju dan digaul rata
8. Isi ke dalam mangkuk kentang
9. Tabur keju ke atas kentang yang sudah berisi
10. Bakar hingga keju perang

Portugese egg tart





Ingredients
1. Pie pastry
2. 4 egg yolks
3. 1/3 cup white sugar, or to taste
4. 1/3 cup heavy cream
5. 1/3 cup milk
6. 3 drops vanilla extract



Direction
1. Prepare your pastry into a muffin baking tin, or you can do like me: make your own case using aluminum foil
2. Beat the egg yolk
3. Add the cream, milk and vanilla extract. Beat in together into egg.
4. Sieve the egg.
5. Pour in the egg into the pie pastry until 80% full.
6. Bake in a 170 degrees Celsius preheat oven until the egg is slightly browned, about 15-25 minutes

1. Sediakan pastri anda, ke dalam bekas bakar mufin, atau anda boleh membuat sendiri menggunakan kerajang aluminium
2. Pukul kuning telur
3. Tambah krim, susu dan ekstrak vanilla. Pukul bersama dengan telur
4. Tapis telur tadi.
5. Tuang ke dalam pastry pai yang telah disediakan hingga 80% penuh
6. Bakar di dalam ketuhar 170 darjah celsius yang telah dipanaskan hingga telur berwarna perang, dalam 15 hingga 20 minit.

Tuna casserol







In corellation of Father's Day... I make tuna casserol as asked by my ayah...


Ingredient
1. 1 big onion, diced
2. A stalk celery, diced
3. A root of carrot, diced
4. A can of cream of mushroom soup
5. Water or milk
6. A big can of tuna in water or oil
7. A medium sized bowl of pasta such as macaroni, cooked
8. Shredded cheese
9. Semi-crushed taco or potato chips (natural flavor)


Direction
1. Sauté onion, celery and carrot in a pot.
2. Put in the mushroom soup.
3. Add water and stir to boiling
4. Put in tuna and stir in
5. Toss in pasta
6. Pour in into a casserole dish
7. Sprinkle cheese
8. Sprinkle with taco or potato chips.
9. Bake in a preheat oven until the cheese have melted and browned.

bersempena dengan Hari Bapa... saya membuat casserol tuna di atas permintaan ayah.

Bahan2

5. Air atau susu
6. Setin besar tuna dalam air atau dalam minyak
7. Semangkuk bersaiz sederhana pasta, seperti macaroni yang sudah direbus
8. Keju yang sudah dikisar
9. Keropok nachos atau kerepek kentang (berperisa asli) dihancur besar.


Kaedah
1. Tumis bawang, celery dan lobak merah hingga separa lembut
2. Masukkan mushroom soup. Kacau rata
3. Masukkan air. Kacau hingga mendidih.
4. Masukkan ikan tuna dan dikacau rata. Padamkan api.
5. Masukkan pasta dan dikacau agar kuah rata.
6. Tuang ke dalam bekas bakar
7. Taburkan keju
8. Taburkan keropok kentang
9. Bakar di dalam ketuhar yang telah dipanaskan hingga keju mencair dan berwarna perang.

chicken stew








• 1 big onion- cut to small cubes
• 1 root of carrot- half cut to small cubes the other half cut to big cube
• 1 stalk of celery- half cut to small cubes the other half cut to big cube
• 1 potato, cubed
• 1 bowl of cubed chicken
• About 150 ml of chicken stock
• 2 big tablespoon of butter
• 3 tablespoon of flour
• 3 tablespoon of skimmed milk
• Salt.







1- Fried the chicken in the pot you are going to make the stew in very little oil to caramelize the chicken.
2- Put the chicken aside.
3- With the same pot, saute the onion, followed with the small carrot cube and then small celery cube.
4- Put in the chicken
5- Add the chicken stock, add hot water until it cover the top of the chicken. Wait until the fluid boil.
6- Add in the carrot, which then followed by potato, then celery. Wait until the fluid to boil between each.
7- Add the skimmed milk
8- In another pot, melt the butter. Add in the flour and stir until golden. Add the flour into the stew.
9- Let the stew boil until the potato and the carrot are soft.
10- Add salt to your liking. You may add crushed black pepper.

• 1 bawang merah yang besar- didadu kecil
• 1 lobak merah- separuh didadu kecil dan separuh lagi didadu besar
• 1 batang seleri- separuh didadu kecil dan separuh lagi didadu besar
• 1 kentang didadu besar
• 1 mangkuk ayam didadu sederhana
• Lebih kurang 150 ml air rebusan ayam
• 2 sudu besar mentega
• 3 sudu besar tepung gamdum
• 3 sudu besar susu skim
• Garam








1- Goreng sedikit ayam di dalam periuk yang akan digunakan untuk memasak stew hingga ayam menjadi sedikit perang.
2- Keluarkan ayam dari periuk dan ketepikan.
3- Dengan periuk tadi, tumis bawang yang kemudiannya dimasukkan lobak yang didadu kecil dan diikuti dengan seleri.
4- Masukkan ayam
5- Tambahkan air rebusan. Tmbahkan air panas hingga cukup untuk menutupi permukaan ayam. Tunggu hingga mendidih
6- Masukkan lobak, diikuti dengan kentang dan seleri. Pastikan cecair mendidih diantara setiap bahan.
7- Masukkan susu skim
8- Dalam periuk lain, cairkan mentega. Masukkan tepung dan kacau hingga perang. Masukkan tepung tadi ke dalam stew.
9- Biarkan stew mendidih hingga kentang dan lobak lembut.
10- Masukkan garam mengikut citarasa. Anda juga boleh menambah lada hitam yang ditumbuk halus.

Cooking... sewing...






Once, before I started working, I got a call from my aunt. We talked about how she once have all time in the world to cook and sew but no money to do so. Now that she's a working woman, with enough money to buy all the flour, fabric that you want...but not even enough time to sleep.



During that time I am a sit-at-home-waiting-for-result girl, so I'm at the first phase my aunt was saying... now I'm at the next phase, when you have the money... but not the time..






Ohhh... how I miss cooking and baking and sewing.. and doing craft... and...

Dialog dengan Rasulullah

Tadi siang saya sempat pergi mendengar tazkirah yang diberi pada setiap pagi Selasa di tempat kerja.

Pada akhir tazkirah, pentazkirah meminta kami semua agar membayang jika seketika nanti kita keluar dari pintu masuk tadi, kita akan bertemu dengan Rasulullah. kemudian kami diminta membuka handphone kami dan menaip apa yang kami rancang untuk diperkatakan kepada Rasulullah… sedang saya menaip, hati saya makin tersentuh.. semakin saya rancang apa yang saya akan katakan, semakin saya sedar betapa besar pengorbanan Rasulullah pada kita semua…

persolan yang timbul pada ketika ini ialah sudahkah kita semua bersedia untuk bertemu dengan Rasulullah? soalan seterusnya adalah; sudahkan kita bersedia untuk bertemu dengan Allah?

Manusia = An-Nas = Nasiya








Kekadang kita semua mempertikaikan mengapa manusia ini diciptakan sebagai makhluk yang pelupa. Dengan pelupanya manusia; dia lupa jasa orang yang pernah menolongnya, lupa pada janji, lupa pada ibu bapa, lupa juga pada Tuhan..


Tapi pernahkah kita terfikir andainya manusia sentiasa ingat…


Setiap wanita pasti hanya akan mempunyai seorang anak dan mungkin membenci anaknya, kerana kesakitan dan kesusahan yang yang datang dengannya.
Setiap orang pasti berdendam dengan dasyat bila tidak mampu melupakan kejadian yang telah berlaku…
Manusia mungkin menjadi murung akibat dari kesedihan yang tidak pernah padam…


Semestinya Allah yang paling tahu apa yang terbaik untuk hambanya

Basic lasagna




It have been so long since i wanted to try and make my very own lasagna from scratch. finally..


ingredients:

1- bolognaise sauce

2- lasagna pieces

3- cottage cheese

4- motzarella cheese

5- olive oil



direction:

1- in a square or rectangular baking pan, dribble some oil.

2- spread a layer of bolognaise sauce

3- put in the lasagna piece.

4- spread another layer of bolognaise sauce and put a layer of cottage cheese.

5- repeat the process for another two or three times.

6- sprinkle with motzarella cheese.

7- cover the pan with aluminium foil

8- bake in a preheat oven of about 350 degrees for about 40 minutes.

9- let it cool a bit before enjoying the lasagna










i'm going to confess: i didn't use cottage cheese, but i blend some milk with cheddar and some motzarella.. and i did use the motzarella for the topping...

kaedah:

1- basahkan permukaan bekas bakar dengan minyak zaitun

2- lapiskan satu lapisan sos bolognaise

3- lapiskan dengan kepingan lasagna

4- lapiskan dengan selapis sos bolognaise dan selapis keju cottage

5- ulang turutan lasagna-sos-keju sebanyak 2 hingga tiga kali.

6- taburkan pada permukaan sos yang paling atas dengan keju motzarella

7- tutup bekas pembakar dengan kepingan aluminium

8- bakar dalam ketuhar yang telah dipanaskan ke suhu 350 selama 40 minit

9- tunggu sejuk sedikit sebelum dinikmati.









saya ada sesuatu yang perlu saya beritahu.. saya tidak menggunakan keju cottage, tapi saya gunakan susu+keju cheddae+keju yang dikisar.. dan saya taburkan keju motzarella di atas permukaan lasagna..

baked pasta







this recipe was actually gotten from my teacher (her daughter actually)..




Ingredients:




for white sauce:


4 tablespoon of butter


4 tablespoon of all purpose flour


2 cup of milk






short pasta; such as macaroni and penne


3 eggs


cheese






direction:




1- to make the white sauce; melt the butter in a pot over small heat. add the flour with constant stirring. add the milk, the amount is based on your preference.


2- cook your pasta according to the direction at the packaging. put that aside


3- make the bolognaise sauce. put it aside


4- add together in a cold big bowl: the white sauce and the bolognaise sauce. add the eggs. make sure they are mixed nicely.


5- add in the pasta.


6- pour into a baking pan. sprinkle some cheese


7- in a preheated oven just until the cheese on top have become golden brown.


8- let it cool before enjoying.




*you could also try adding the white sauce into the bolognaise when the sauce is still on heat.. and eat it with long pasta such as spaghetti and angel's hair.

resepi yang saya dapat dari cikgu sekolah saya (ok, dr anak dia)..




bahan2:




sos putih:


4 sudu besar mentega


4 sudu tepung


2 cawan susu






pasta pendek seperti macaroni dan penne


3 biji telur


keju






kaedah:


1- untuk membuat sos putih; cairkan mentega dalam periuk di atas api kecil. masukkan tepung sambil kacau sentiasa. tambahkan susu mengikut citarasa anda. biarkan sejuk.


2- buat sos bolognaise. biarkan sejuk.


3- masak pasta mengikut arahan pada pek


4- dalam satu mangkuk besar, gabungkan sos putih dan sos bolonaise.


5- tambahkan telur


6- tambahkan pasta


7- tuang ke dalam bekas untuk membakar. taburkan dengan keju


8- masak di dalam ketuhar yang telah dipanaskan terlebih dahulu. masak hingga keju berwarna perang keemasan.




*anda boleh juga masukkan sos putih ke dalam sos bolognaise semasa sos masih di atas api. dinikmati dengan pasta panjang seperti spaghetti atau angel's hair.

Vanilla ice cream





Ice ceam




Ingredients




A- 1 vanilla pod, or 1 tsp essence of vanilla


B- 1 1/4 cup semi skimmed milk


C- 4 egg yolks


D- 5 tbsp caster sugar


E- 1 tsp cornsugar


F- 1 1/4 cup double cream






Directions




1- heat A and B in a pot until boil. then remove from heat for at least 15 min.


2- put C, D and E in a bowl. whisk until thick. add to the milk, whisking constantly. cook over gentel heat for about 10-15 min with constant stirring.


3- whip F until soft and fluffy but still not thick enough to stay onto the whisk. fold into the milk.


4- pour the mixture into a freezeproof container.


5- freeze for 3 - 6 hours. beat to soften the ice cream. feeze again.




you can change the flavor by exchanging the vanilla to choc or any other. if you're using fresh fruit; puree the fruit, add the icing sugar and lemon juice - after seiving, chill and continue with direction number 3 to 5.

kaedah




1- panaskan A dan B dalam periuk hingga mendidih. biarkan sejuk selama 15 min.


2- pukul C, D dan E hingga pekat. gaul ke dalam susu. panaskan semula selama 10 hingga 15 min dan pastikan dikacau selalu.


3- pukul F sehingga pekat dan gebu. kacau ke dalam susu yang telah dipanaskan tadi.


4- tuang ke dalam bekas tahan beku. bekukan selama 3 hingga 6 jam. kacau agar licin. bekukan semula.

(-) add (-) does not equal to (+)


During my induction course for new staffs at Hosp AnNur, the motivator (Dr Azrul) told us all: two negative does not gives out a positive... our brain can't define it like that.

For example if you say " don't slam the door"; then your brain will break it to "don't" and "slam the door".. so unintentionally you are telling your brain: slam the door.

It is better to say "close the door softly"

He said that during his practical times, he used to pray for no accidents, no bad cases, no emergency operations.. and that is what that happens.. then he learn to change his prayer to the people be more careful when driving, everyone is safe and healthy.

So when you pray for something... say "I want something nice", rather than "I want something not bad"

Homesick = sakit rumah


In the Macmillan English Dictionary, it define homesick as feeling sad and alone because you are far from home. I think a lot of us know the definition of homesick. I think I did too, until I went and face the world to work around strangers for the first time.

I never think much about the term homesick when I went to boarding school (secondary school) for the first time. I didn’t worry about it during my matriculation days. I didn’t even fret about it when I went to Kuantan for my degree. But I felt it so strongly when I go to Bangi; which not suppose to be a problem when Bangi is only 30 minutes away from Shah Alam.
I didn’t notice it first, but then I realize that I’m as susceptible to crying as a tap that has it’s rubber inside broken; a little nudge and the water pours out.


I do feel ashamed of myself though; as a 25yrs old person to be as susceptible to crying as I do now… I can get dehydrated not only from sweating and exhaling.. but also from crying..


I hope I can be a better adaptable person.. I also hope that Allah will give what He thinks is best for me..
